If I were Governor, I would… Promote unity between Senate and House leaders with common vision and goals, encourage business growth and job creation through tax cuts, promote educational choice through tax credits and charter schools, promote a healthy moral environment by protecting innocent human life and marriage.

Why I am a Republican: I agree with the principles of conservative government as stated in the state and national Republican platforms. Since liberty is threatened when a government becomes too powerful, I agree with the vision of our Founding Fathers for a limited government based on the Constitution. I also believe that man-made laws should be based on absolute law as defined by our Creator.

Favorite Republican: Abraham Lincoln. His life represented the frontier virtues of hard work, initiative, self-reliance and personal kindness. I admire his rise from humble beginnings to President of the United States. His perseverance and strength of character during the Civil War are inspiring to me.

Most recently read book: Integrity of Faith by Eric Wallace, the co-chairman of the Cook County Republican Party. This book is a moving biography of Eric’s faith as reflected in his family, work and politics.

The one dish I cook better than anyone is: BBQ Chicken
